Our Instructors come from different backgrounds, this ensures a diverse look at training and enhances the training experience for a broad range of students.

Jeremy Decker

Instructor Jeremy Decker is an OPOTA-certified Firearms Instructor and has been teaching firearms and defensive tactics since 2000. He has worked in various law enforcement positions including patrol, plain clothes and as his department’s armorer. In his current role he performs re-qualification training as well as running structured learning training for deputies both sworn and non-sworn.

He has received training from many law enforcement entities and some of the nation's finest private trainers in pistol, shotgun, tactical rifle, scoped rifle, and many specific tactics-based courses.

In addition, Jeremy serves as one of the shoot directors for Sandusky County Sportsman’s Club II, and is a past director of the club. While continuing to train with both public and private sources Jeremy heads up ADC’s Ohio efforts.

Michael Lake

Instructor Michael Lake has been involved in a variety shooting activities since 1989. As a junior competitor, Michael scored in the top 10% in the nation in high-power rifle competition. Since then he has received training from the US Army Marksmanship Unit, the US Marine Corps Rifle Team and some of the finest private training facilities in the nation.

In addition to being a certified range safety officer he holds several instructor ratings and armorer certifications.

Michael is currently a contractor for the US Department of Energy in Northern New Mexico and heads up ADC’s New Mexico efforts. He is a writer and gear reviewer for Spotter Up Tactical, and an accomplished Freemason.

Rowland Rivero

Instructor Rowland Rivero is a board-certified physician practicing in NW Ohio. He attended medical school on a Navy scholarship and served on the east coast with the United States Navy and Marine Corps. He holds certifications in Advanced Trauma Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.

In addition to his medical endeavors, Rowland is also an NRA-certified instructor and Range Safety Officer. His shooting interests started in USPSA competitive pistol and “outlaw 3 gun” competitions held regionally.

He continues to serve the community as a SWAT Doctor with a Regional SWAT Team. In this role he supports and educates SWAT members in tactical combat casualty care practices and procedures for self and buddy care on scene.
